Mostly art. Some science.

Eleanor Davis won the Russ Manning Most Promising Newcomer award at the 2009 Eisners, and her illustration work won her a Gold Medal from the Society of Illustrators last year, further cementing her status as a major young creator. Now, we present How to Be Happy, the eagerly awaited collection of Davis’s comics going back to 2007, coming this Summer.
Our downloadable preview includes portions of the stunning painted stories “In Our Eden” and Best American Comics selection “Nita Goes Home,” plus a couple of Davis’s looser but no less impactful sketchbook strips. Everyone will be talking about How to Be Happy when it comes out in July or early August; make sure you’re part of the conversation by pre-ordering your copy today.

It’s hard to trust a plate of food that looks like it’s been served in a sauce of Mountain Dew.
Being alone gives you ample time to work on voices, different accents or funny intonations you can affect in order to make yourself feel less isolated.
I have a voice I call Scouse Gary.
Scouse Gary is a really positive chap from Liverpool who takes over from me when I cook.
'Nice one!' he says when I chop the veg.
'Sorted!' he exclaims when I brown the meat.
'Fookin mint!' he chuckles when I plate up the sludge.
Then he disappears when it comes time to eat the shitty meal he’s tricked me into preparing.
'Laters feller!' I hear him giggle as I'm left to eat the plate of not food.

So I used to be fat and about two years ago I finally got the self-motivation to fix it. I lost 50lbs+ running and dieting and got a modicum of aerobic fitness for the first time in my life.

The last 5 months I’ve been in the process of getting/recovering from surgery/injuries because I’m clumsy as shit and I’ve been trying to keep up the running as much as possible.

It’s been hard, but god damn it was so much harder when I was big and had no idea how to exercise.

So if you’re fat and trying to lose weight you got my respect and admiration cause starting was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. Keep at it.
